As a global development-focused institution, World Tourism Development Corporation Limited (WTDC) is dedicated to advancing sustainable tourism, infrastructure development and economic growth primarily across small islands developing states (SIDS), least developing countries (LDC’s), emerging and established destinations.

Building on its original vision as the World Tourism Development Bank, WTDC has evolved into a dynamic corporate platform mobilizing investments, fostering  strategic partnerships, and delivering innovative financing solutions tailored exclusively to the global travel and tourism sector.

WTDC works closely with governments, private sector partners, and local communities to unlock the full potential of industry as a driver for inclusive growth, job creation and environmental stewardship through a combination of capital deployment, advisory services, and project development expertise, WTDC supports high-impact initiatives that strengthen national economies while preserving cultural and natural assets for future generations.

WTDC is supported by member countries and island nations, whom participate as shareholders, board representatives, partners, and key stakeholders with the World Tourism Development Bank under a formal Articles of Agreement framework designed to the the Bank’s  governance, mandate, and operational principles, ensuring transparency, accountability, and collective ownership across its global membership comprising:

The purpose of the WTDC shall be to promote sustainable tourism development by financing projects, supporting policy and institutional reform, mobilizing capital and providing technical and advisory assistance to its members, optimizing on the travel and tourism economic pillar building new travel ecosystems and tourism marketplaces globally.  

The propensity deploying authentic creativity rethinking old systems while embracing new ones for original innovation harnessing existing structures and concepts, creating dynamic strategic theaters for the future of travel and tourism through a colossal inventory and arsenal of intellectual properties (IP’s) redefines a new perspective for collective space in history – both ancient & modern – sets a precedent revolutionizing change much needed beyond conventional industry-practices

what we do

In pursuit of its purpose, the WTDC pioneers economic and financial solutions through: 

1.    Assist in the financing of tourism-related development projects and programmes;
2.    Promote environmentally sustainable, climate-resilient, and socially inclusive tourism;
3.    Support cultural heritage preservation and community-based tourism;
4.    Encourage private sector participation and public-private partnerships;
5.    Provide policy advice, institutional strengthening, and capacity-building services;
6.    Mobilize financial resources from international capital markets and other sources; and,
7.    Act as a centre for research, data, and best practices in tourism development.

WTDC projects and funds are managed in trust and in strict adherence to the Articles of Agreement, as well as supporting policies and frameworks derived from such instruments ensuring investments are aligned with the WTDC’s core mission of sustainable economic development, responsible financing, and long-term value creation for member countries, island nations and their communities.

WORLD INDIGENOUS VILLAGE

The development of a physical ethnic & indigenous village integrating the arts and culture, fashion and textile, history and heritage, complimented with traditional cultural expressions by every single ethnic tribe &indigenous community worldwide, accompanied with indigenous industry-clusters, social-purpose businesses and youth-representations simultaneously developing a global ethnic & indigenous centre for academia, research and studies.

An idea towards realization for a living museum, building a global indigenous community with a collective shared purpose and vision.
