MONGOLIA

Kharkhorum, located in the Orkhon Valley was the ancient capital of the Mongolian Empire founded by Genghis Khan, and a World Heritage Site.

Once represented a melting pot hosting Silk Road artisans, merchants and traders from the east and the west, the ancient capital during its heyday in the 13th century was initially built as a military base campground, given its large land space. The city was then transformed into a cosmopolitan hub for political and economic affairs, and in 1235, under Ogedei Khan, Chinggis Khaan’s son and successor, Kharkhorum became a walled capital.

Beginning with Karakorum, the development of a string ‘ancient’ properties along the Silk Road, with authentic architecture replicating local model designs, advocating the past – reliving in the future – with arts & culture, bazaars & marketplaces, cuisine, food & gastronomy, indigenous fashion & textile, etc. and most importantly providing opportunities for Mongolians sustaining their history and heritage.

Building sustainable ecosystems preserving its World Heritage Sites status and creating landmark developments resuscitating awareness of once ancient vital trade routes for economic growth and a strategy for tourism resilience complimented with the intrinsic creative industry serves to deliver ideas, innovation and solutions from specs to spectacular with a new travel & tourism narrative for Mongolia.
